We are so happy to introduce a regularly occurring musical happening curated and hosted by Mad Johnny Modell and Wally Llama Ingram from the band Casa Del Sol\, along with our dear friend and collaborator Joby Marmot King Pritzker. \nEach monthly event will feature an original set by Casa Del Sol followed by a performance from a band or artist with whom we either share a close musical kinship\, or who is a novel artist we’re excited to introduce to our Bay Area gang of deep music lovers (AKA The Strange Angels). The third act of the night will be a cross-collaboration featuring all the above\, as well as very special guests and musical luminaries. Our mission is to draw upon the rich musical heritage of San Francisco in order to foster a regular collective of artists and music lovers which honors and expands upon that spirit. The music will be top notch; the vibe will be celebratory. Won’t you join us at the House of Love?! \n  \nCASA DE SOL \nCasa Del Sol is a band of brothers with a mission to shed light in dark times. While the band might be called “alternative”\, its cinematic music is rooted in 1960s and 1970s-inspired and socially-conscious psychedelic soul-rock. The proudly San Francisco\, California-based band has just released its debut album\, Strange Angels\, a “turn on\, tune in\, drop out” offering- it’s a journey that rewards listening in one continuous sitting. The band is currently working on their follow up album. \nThe four-piece group’s freewheeling but distinctive aesthetic encompasses strains of psychedelia\, soul\, rock\, blues\, jazz\, folk\, and world music. Casa Del Sol features singer-songwriter\, producer\, and guitarist Mad Johnny Modell\, and his best friend of 30 years\, legendary drummer Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow\, Crowded House\, Eric Burdon\, Stockholm Syndrome\, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh\, Jackson Browne\, Bonnie Raitt). The band that emerged from the mighty DAG serves up a gritty blend of swampy grooves\, deep blues\, and psychedelic jams. \nAdams is a veteran road warrior (NYC Jamband\, The Hatters) and an award-winning composer known for iconic film and TV scores including Californication\, Lethal Weapon\, The 100\, and NCIS: New Orleans. He’s joined by drum legend Wally Ingram (Timbuk 3\, David Lindley\, Bob Weir) and mighty Ben Levine on bass (country legend Neal McCoy\, and INXS lead singer Ciaran Gribbin). DESCRIPTION:Gaucho is a masterful Bay Area band that combines the influence of gypsy jazz of 1930’s Europe with the rhythmic drive and collective improvisation of New Orleans swing music\, gutbucket blues and elements of ragtime. Their sound\, a uniquely American concoction\, blends instrumental acuity and lighthearted humor that keep their audience coming back for more. As founder\, guitarist\, and main composer Dave Ricketts says\, the band is “in love with the music of Louis Armstrong\, Fats Waller and Jimmie Rodgers\, as well as the stories\, the life styles and the foot steps of hundreds of other great jazz\, blues\, country and rock musicians that created the sound of American Music from roughly 1900-1950’s” \nGaucho has recorded eight albums\, tours regularly\, and has an increasing repertoire of over forty original tunes. Seven of their tunes are featured in the 2012 film “Trattoria”; one was chosen by the Metropolitan Museum of Art for their website; and another is featured in the outtakes section of the Pixar DVD CARS 2. In 2018\, Gaucho got a song in the Hollywood Movie “Destination Wedding” starring Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder. And two of Dave’s own compositions will be placed in a New York City based indie film\, “Stationed at Home\,” in 2022. \nLed by eminent guitarist\, Dave Ricketts\, the group has been a San Francisco mainstay for nearly twenty years\, and one of the busiest bands in the bay area playing 5 to 10 gigs a week. Together with virtuosos Rob Reich–accordion and Craig Venetresco–guitar\, superlative bassist Ari Munkres\, the honorable Leon Oakley–cornet\, and versatile percussionist Steve Apple\, these guys keep crowds moving with their beats and complex rhythms.

DESCRIPTION:An Irish guy\, a black guy\, a Hungarian\, and a Jew\, walked into a bar. Once they were perched on their barstools\, the soulful organ master Jimmy McGriff\, streamed through the laptop speakers. “Rock Candy” was the song\, and it pleased the four men very much. So much so\, the men\, who just happened to be distinguished musicians\, decided on the spot\, to organize an organ dominate quartet\, name it SMOKEHOUSE\, and get some gigs. That’s exactly what they did\, and now the rest of the story. \nEamonn Flynn – organ\, vocals and songwriting \nEamonn was born and raised in Ireland. Prior to moving to America\, Flynn was best known for playing Hammond B3 organ\, and piano on the soundtrack for “The Commitments”\, a film about an Irish Soul band. The soundtrack sold 14\,000\,000 copies. Flynn relocated to San Francisco\, in 1997. He went on to record and tour globally with Michael Franti & Spearhead\, Evelyn “Champagne” King\, Pee Wee Ellis\, Maria Muldaur\, and Meters’ drummer\, Zigaboo Modeliste to name a few. \nAnthony Paule – guitar\, vocals and songwriting \nAnthony\, is creator and leader of the twelve piece\, horn driven\, “Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra featuring Willy Jordan”. APSO performs and records original Blues and Soul music. Under Paule’s direction APSO\, has received seventeen BMA nominations\, and recorded six albums. Anthony has also toured and/or recorded with Boz Scaggs\, Charlie Musselwhite\, the Johnny Nocturne Band\, Jackie Payne\, Mark Hummel\, Home Cookin’\, Frank Bey\, Wee Willie Walker\, Maria Muldaur\, and Van Morrison. \nWilly Jordan – drums\, vocals\, songwriting \nWilly\, has a varied musical background (blues\, zydeco\, rhythm and blues\, soul\, funk\, rock\, and jazz). He has performed and/or recorded with Elvin Bishop\, Charlie Musselwhite\, Carlos Santana\, and Motordude Zydeco. From 1996 to 1998 Willy toured and recorded with blues legend John Lee Hooker. “Something Smells Funky ‘Round Here” recorded with Elvin Bishop’s Big Fun Trio\, garnered Willy two Grammy nominations. “I Found A Love”\, a duet Willy sang with John Nemeth\, for John’s double BMA winning “May Be The Last Time”. Willy is now lead vocalist with The Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra. \nEndre Tarczy – bass\, vocals\, songwriting Endre Tarczy is a first call bassist around the San Francisco Bay Area. He has played with iconic musicians such as John Lee Hooker\, Gregg Allman\, Robben Ford\, Chris Cain\, and Coco Montoya. Tarczy is a frequent collaborator at Greaseland Studios in San Jose\, often appearing as part of the “Greaseland All Stars” alongside producer Kid Andersen. He has played on countless releases recorded at Greaseland including albums by Terry Hanck\, Jackie Payne\, Kid Andersen\, Diuna Greenleaf\, and many others. From 2018 to 2025 Tarczy held down the bass chair in the Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra performing at festivals all around the U.S. and Europe.
