SUMMARY:Live Jazz
DESCRIPTION:Paris 75’s rotating jazz bands turn this corner of North Beach into a little slice of the Left Bank. Each week a different small ensemble—trios\, quartets\, and vocal groups—leans into swing\, standards\, and café‑style jazz that pairs naturally with wine\, cocktails\, charcuterie\, and late‑night conversation. The vibe is intimate and unhurried: close‑up solos\, brushed drums\, and melodies that drift through the room while guests linger over another round.

SUMMARY:Katy Stephan
DESCRIPTION:Kathy Stephan brings torch songs\, swing standards\, and a touch of twang to the Comstock Saloon’s polished‑but‑raucous barroom. Her voice leans into the room’s natural reverb\, floating over brushed drums\, piano\, and upright bass while cocktails clink and the lights stay low. Expect classic tunes\, a few deep‑cut surprises\, and the kind of between‑song banter that makes the band feel like part of the crowd. It’s the perfect soundtrack for settling into a leather booth\, ordering something stirred\, and letting the night stretch out a little longer than you planned.

SUMMARY:Alexandra Rieloff Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Immerse yourself in a sophisticated blend of smooth melodies and Latin-inspired rhythms as the Alexandra Rieloff Quartet takes the stage at Sheba Piano Lounge on Thursday from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Known for her versatile background as a filmmaker and choreographer\, Brooklyn-born Chilean vocalist Alexandra Rieloff brings a unique\, cinematic elegance to her jazz performances. This intimate set features a timeless repertoire of jazz standards\, peppered with the romantic textures of Bossa Nova and Boleros. \nThe Sound: The trio delivers a “sultry and soulful” soundscape. Rieloff’s rich\, emotive vocals are typically supported by a seasoned rhythm section—often featuring Mark Holzinger on guitar and Rob Bassinette on bass—creating a relaxed yet technically brilliant atmosphere. \nA Cultural Fusion: Reflecting Rieloff’s Chilean roots\, the performance often bridges the gap between the Great American Songbook and Latin American classics. It is a musical journey that feels both globally inspired and deeply personal. \nThe Sheba Ambiance: The dim\, amber-lit warmth of Sheba Lounge\, with its tropical foliage and cozy fireplace\, serves as the perfect “film-noir” backdrop for Rieloff’s performance. It is a setting where the music and the mood are in perfect harmony. \nNo Cover Charge: This high-caliber performance is open to all patrons with no cover\, making it a premier destination for those seeking a refined night out in the Fillmore without the velvet ropes. \n\nAbout Alexandra Rieloff\nAlexandra Rieloff is a multi-talented artist whose work spans music\, dance\, and film. Since moving to San Francisco\, she has become a fixture of the local jazz and cabaret scenes\, known for her “visual approach to storytelling through song.” Whether she is performing at North Beach taprooms or historic cocktail lounges like Stookey’s Blue Room\, Rieloff is celebrated for her ability to curate sets that are both intellectually engaging and deeply evocative\, keeping the spirit of mid-century jazz alive with a modern\, cosmopolitan twist.

SUMMARY:The Good Bad
DESCRIPTION:Prepare for a foot-stomping night as San Francisco’s own The Good Bad brings their explosive brand of bluegrass to Tupelo. A staple of the West Coast “Newgrass” scene since 2010\, this five-piece ensemble delivers a high-velocity take on traditional string music. Known for their tight vocal harmonies and rowdy stage presence\, they turn the standard bluegrass session into a full-blown North Beach party. \n\n\nThe Sound: The Good Bad specializes in Progressive Bluegrass (Newgrass). While they use traditional instruments—mandolin\, banjo\, fiddle\, and dobro—their approach is pure rock-and-roll energy. Expect lightning-fast picking\, “raucous” vocal arrangements\, and a “good time” sound designed to be paired with a dash of whiskey. \n\n\nThe Lineup: The band features a versatile group of local pickers: \n\n\nAaron Lanes: Mandolin & Guitar \nThomas Beneduci: Guitar & Dobro \nPeter Dominici: Banjo \nDave Pascoe: Fiddle \nPaul Geoghan: Bass \n\n\nBluegrass in the Beach: Tupelo’s intimate\, red-lit stage is the perfect venue for the band’s acoustic power. Without the barriers of a large festival stage\, you can catch the “unique character blend” and technical mastery of the group up close. \n\n\nNo Cover Hoedown: In a neighborhood known for high-priced entertainment\, this “Good Ol’ Fashioned Ho-Down” remains No Cover. It’s a rare chance to see a band that has shared stages with scene favorites like The Brothers Comatose and The Lil’ Smokies for free. \n\n\n\nAbout The Good Bad\nHailing from the foggy hills of San Francisco\, The Good Bad has spent over a decade honing a sound that pushes the boundaries of traditional bluegrass while staying rooted in its acoustic soul. They are veterans of the California festival circuit\, known for their ability to captivate audiences of all ages with their “uniquely rustic tones” and high-energy performance style. Whether they are playing a local tavern or a massive stage like Hardly Strictly Bluegrass\, their mission is always the same: to move the audience and keep the spirit of the string band alive in the modern era.
