His work expands the possibilities of composition and collaboration through the drum set. \n \nIn 2025\, Jaffe released “You Want That Too!” on Colorfield Records. Counting Jeff Parker\, Meg Duffy (Hand Habits)\, and Shelley Burgon (Fred Frith\, Bjork) among its all-star lineup\, the eclectic and tuneful album received praise from Pitchfork\, Downbeat\, and several other outlets. \nMax is a founding member of experimental rock collective JOBS\, Amirtha Kidambi’s Elder Ones\, Leverage Models\, and several others. He has toured\, performed\, and recorded with many diverse artists including Wild Up\, Steph Richards\, WAND\, M.A. Tiesenga\, Nels Cline\, Ava Mendoza\, Delicate Steve\, Cass McCombs\, Rubblebucket\, David Wax Museum\, DARKSIDE\, David Binney\, Nick Reinhart\, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson\, Jessica Pavone\, Chris Williams\, Nicole McCabe\, Logan Kane\, Peter Evans\, Simon Hanes\, Oberhofer\, and many others. \n \nSteven Lugerner and Max Jaffe have been playing music together on and off since middle school. Their musical journeys contained significant overlap at one point in the form of several records and tours with the groups In One Wind\, Chives\, and killer BOB\, and while their paths have largely diverged since they left NYC for San Francisco and Los Angeles\, respectively\, they reunite – with the support of Bay Area bass guru Giulio Xavier Cetto – for this special evening.

He studied with pianist Edward Simon at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music from 2018 to 2022\, and subsequently spent two years in Tokyo before returning to the Bay Area in 2025. Along with musical influence from the countless great pianists of the jazz tradition\, Potter’s compositions take inspiration from nature\, meditation practice\, and language study. He has shared the stage with greats such as Matt Brewer\, Carmen Bradford\, Mike Rodriguez\, and Akira Tana\, and currently resides in the Bay Area.

He actively collaborates and records with a diverse range of artists while maintaining a vibrant career as a composer and orchestrator. \nTaylor is also committed to education\, contributing to masterclasses and performing arts programs such as the world-renowned Stanford Jazz Workshop and the Infinite Music Foundation in Morro Bay\, CA \nHe has had the privilege to work alongside renowned artists such as Dave Douglas\, Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney’s “Wings”)\, New York Voices\, Ben Wendel\, Julian Lage\, Bob Reynolds (Snarky Puppy\, John Mayer)\, Josh Nelson\, Dayna Stephens\, Jacob Collier\, Taylor Eigsti\, and many more. \nTaylor’s latest project\, “Internal Projections\,” explores original compositions with mixed media displaying personal outlooks as a neurodivergent individual with Synesthesia (Sounds to Colors) and Autism Spectrum Disorder.   \nTaylor holds a Bachelors in Jazz Studies and a non-degree study in Contemporary Composition from the University of North Texas.

DESCRIPTION:George Grydkovets is a guitarist\, bandleader\, and composer from Kyiv\, Ukraine\, currently residing in New York City. From an early age\, George was playing all over Kyiv’s clubs with his band but eventually began playing music with some of the best Ukrainian jazzmen\, such as Dennis Adu. With his “Kyiv Trio”\, he has recorded a debut record – “Rise”\, which came out March 25th\, 2022 on the “Shifting Paradigm Records”. During his time in NYC\, George completed his studies at The New School for Jazz and has performed with musicians such as Ari Hoenig\, Steve Cardenas\, Frank Perowsky\, Sam Yahel\, and others. Among the venues he has played were Nublu\, Stone\, as well as the Clifford Brown and Bern Jazz Festivals.

DESCRIPTION:Richard Howell:\nRichard Howell is an acclaimed jazz saxophonist\, composer\, and educator whose music celebrates diversity and unites the experience of all listeners. Howell has performed and recorded with numerous musical icons such as Etta James\, Ray Charles\, B.B. King\, Chaka Khan\, Maurice White\, and Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah. He has toured the United States\, Europe\, and Africa and has participated in the Newport and New Orleans Jazz Festivals. With his quartet\, Howell won an Izzie Award for his collaboration with choreographer Gregory Dawson at the Black Choreographers Festival. He has also produced several albums\, including those by the Afro-Brazilian ensemble Vivendo de Pão and jazz/spoken-word ensemble UpSurge!\, as well as those by the Mo’Rockin Project\, for which he also served as an arranger and soloist. Howell teaches through JazzTree Education\, and he is an intricate part of Oaktown Jazz Workshops. He exclusively performs on Cannonball Musical Instruments. \nAlex So:\nAs a recent graduate from UC Berkeley\, Alex has decided to put his STEM degree to work and pursue music full time. In his time at Cal\, he was brought back to many of his passions — fishing\, cooking\, and hiking — but most importantly\, music. By spending time with his close friends\, Isaac\, Henry\, Jed\, Miles\, and Richard\, as well as Myron Cohen and Richard Howell\, he was able to realize what the music really meant to him.

DESCRIPTION:This collaboration brings together two accomplished musicians from different continents and musical backgrounds. Cyril Guiraud\, French born\, Bay Area-based saxophonist known for his work with luminaries including Mark de Clive-Lowe\, Michel Petrucciani\, Kenny Garrett\, and George Clinton\, brings his “Coltrane-inspired lyricism with a modern\, tender touch” to the partnership. Omree Gal-Oz\, with over two decades of experience in the Bay Area jazz scene\, contributes his diverse musical palette spanning traditional bebop through contemporary avant-garde approaches developed through his USC education and extensive teaching and performance. The duo’s approach honors the great tradition of saxophone-piano partnerships while incorporating contemporary harmonic concepts and cross-cultural musical perspectives. Their music seamlessly weaves together Guiraud’s European sensibilities with Gal-Oz’s deep American jazz education and experience. \nTheir debut album “the single petal of a rose” features interpretations of works by Duke Ellington\, Thelonious Monk\, Joe Henderson\, and Wayne Shorter\, alongside original compositions that showcase their unique musical dialogue.
