Jonathan Finlayson is a New York–based trumpeter and composer known for his work with Steve Coleman and the M-Base collective. A distinctive improviser, he blends complex rhythms with lyrical phrasing. Finlayson leads his own groups, including Sicilian Defense, and has released several acclaimed albums.
