About North Beach Live

We love live music, poetry, and art—and we were lucky enough to have musicians texting us their next gig directly. Who else gets that kind of access? After years of answering friends’ “What’s happening tonight?” texts, we realized that North Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods needed a single, easy place to find the good stuff in small venues.

North Beach Live (powered by OffBeatSF) is a curated calendar for live music, poetry, and arts events in San Francisco, with a special focus on North Beach’s intimate clubs, cafes, and bars. We highlight jazz, blues, folk, rock, singer‑songwriters, readings, and more—especially in rooms where you can actually see the band, hear the words, and feel part of the night.

Our mission is simple: connect artists and audiences. We help performers, venues, and promoters reach the people who will love what they do, and we help locals and visitors discover new favorites they might otherwise miss. Think of us as your shortcut to the “Where should I go tonight?” question.

Launched in North Beach and now expanding across the city, North Beach Live focuses on smaller, character‑rich venues—the historic bars, neighborhood joints, and listening rooms that give San Francisco its personality. From weeknight jazz trios to late‑night blues, poetry readings, and art happenings, our goal is to keep the city’s creative spirit alive one show at a time.

If you’re an artist, venue, or promoter, you can submit your events so more people can find you. If you’re a fan, dive into the calendar, pick a night, and go see something live. That’s how North Beach—and San Francisco—stays a place where the arts aren’t just history, but a living, nightly experience.

North Beach has a long history of live music, Beat poetry, and independent art, and you can still feel that energy in its streets and venues. North Beach Live exists to connect you with those moments—so the neighborhood’s creative spirit lives not just in its stories, but in the shows happening while you’re here. Visit our North Beach Heritage page to explore more about that history.

For Musicians, Artists, Poets & Venues

There are no banner ads or pop ups on North Beach Live, and we plan to keep it that way. If you have a show that fits North Beach’s spirit, use our submit-event form to share details and we’ll consider adding it to the calendar.

North Beach Live is also a tool for the people who make the scene happen: musicians, poets, visual artists, venues, and promoters.

We offer a curated, easy-to-browse calendar where your event doesn’t get buried under big stadium shows and generic listings. If you’re playing a bar, cafe, gallery, or small stage in or around San Francisco, you can submit your events so the audiences who care about live, local culture can actually find you.

Our goal is simple: connect artists and audiences, and help keep San Francisco’s small venues and creative communities thriving. List your show, share your night, and we’ll help more people walk through the door.

For venues, the calendar provides consistent, third‑party visibility for your events, reaching locals who browse what’s happening in the neighborhood rather than checking individual venue sites or social feeds. Each listing becomes a small, always‑on promotion that can help fill slow nights and reduce “who’s playing tonight?” calls and messages.

For artists, every event entry acts like a mini‑flyer that lives alongside other gigs in the scene, making it easier for fans to follow where you’re playing next. Over time, the calendar also becomes a living map of venues that regularly showcase live music—useful both for finding new venues to approach and for understanding which spaces are a good fit for your sound.

North Beach Live is a labor of love for us, and your participation helps keep this scene—and this neighborhood’s culture—alive.
