The Fish Tank Gallery is a boutique art space on Grant Avenue founded and operated by the prolific San Francisco artist Jeremy Fish. Located in the heart of North Beach, the venue serves as both a public gallery in the front and Fish’s personal working studio in the back. The space was established to foster “good vibes” and contribute to the cultural resurgence of the neighborhood, providing a home for Fish’s signature “Silly Pink Bunnies” aesthetic and the work of his talented collaborators.
Jeremy Fish has long been a fixture of the San Francisco art world, and The Fish Tank Gallery represents his deep commitment to the neighborhood he calls home. His work—often blending imagery of animals, skulls, and local landmarks—can be found throughout the city, but this gallery is the most intimate place to experience his world. By opening his studio to the public, Fish continues the North Beach tradition of the “open atelier,” where the line between the artist’s life and the community’s culture is intentionally blurred.
Artist Residency Vibe: Because it functions as a working studio, the gallery offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. Visitors are often encouraged to ring the doorbell between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM, as Jeremy is frequently on-site creating new work.
Curated Collaborations: While the gallery is a primary showcase for Jeremy Fish’s distinct character-driven illustrations and sculptures, it also hosts rotating exhibitions featuring his friends and peers from the Bay Area art scene.
