Dirty Works Jazz Jam

Every 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Wednesday from 8:30 PM – 12:00 AM, The Lucky Horseshoe sheds its honky-tonk skin to become one of the city’s most dedicated jazz hangouts. Led by bassist Kyle Finley and the Dirty Works Jazz Band, this session brings a high-fidelity “straight-ahead” jazz experience to the heart of Bernal Heights. It is a professional-level jam that favors the raw energy of the 1950s and 60s, turning the “Shoe” into a bustling midnight sanctuary for musicians and listeners alike.

• The Musical Direction: The residency focuses heavily on the “Golden Era” of jazz—think the hard-bop and heavy swing sounds of the Blue Note and Prestige labels. It is a night for fast tempos, complex improvisations, and deep, soulful grooves.
