Gaucho

The Jazz in the Alley series returns to Kerouac Alley for its fifth year, celebrating a milestone season of live music in the heart of North Beach.

The 2026 season kicks off on April 12 with a performance by Gaucho, a mainstay of the San Francisco jazz scene known for their mastery of the rhythmic traditions of 1930s Europe and New Orleans swing. Led by guitarist Dave Ricketts, Gaucho blends the gypsy jazz influence of Django Reinhardt with the collective improvisation of early American jazz and gutbucket blues. The ensemble focuses on a repertoire of original compositions and period-accurate standards.
