Jinx Jones and the Kingtones

January 15 @ 9:00 pm - 1:00 am

Free
Jinx Jones

Catch the “fiery style” of Jinx Jones and the Kingtones at Tupelo. Known as one of the most virtuosic guitarists on the West Coast, Jinx Jones leads his power trio through a high-octane set of Rockabilly, Greaser-Jazz, and “Big Twang” guitar instrumentals. Set in the heart of North Beach’s Grant Avenue, this is the premier destination for those who want their music loud, fast, and dripping with vintage Americana.

The Sound: Jinx Jones is a master of the “Twang,” blending Rockabilly, Surf, and Jump Blues with lightning-fast fingerpicking. Whether he’s tearing through a Dick Dale cover or a soulful original, his sound is characterized by a “no-nonsense” energy that bridges the gap between the 1950s and the modern age.

The Performance: Accompanied by the Kingtones—a rock-solid rhythm section built for swing—Jinx puts on a show that is as much about showmanship as it is about technical skill. Expect deep grooves, swinging rhythms, and guitar solos that frequently bring the room to a standstill.

The Tupelo Vibe: As North Beach’s go-to for live music seven nights a week, Tupelo offers a boisterous, high-energy atmosphere. With its red-lit stage, extensive whiskey selection, and local crowd, it provides the perfect grit for a night of Rockabilly mayhem.

No Cover: This performance is a “No Cover” event (though a tip jar for the band is always appreciated). It’s an unbeatable way to experience world-class musicianship in one of San Francisco’s most historic nightlife corridors.

About Jinx Jones

A staple of the San Francisco music scene for decades, he is a multiple-time winner of the SF Weekly Music Awards and has been inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. His playing is often described as “restless and melodic,” proving that he isn’t just a guitarist—he is a force of nature.
