Co-led by pianist/composer Ruthie Dineen and bassist/composer Andrew Lion, Negative Press Project is a forward-thinking chamber jazz ensemble known for richly orchestrated original works that bridge jazz, classical, and contemporary forms. The group celebrates the release of its fifth studio recording, Cycles I, their most ambitious project to date, featuring the innovative Friction Quartet. Release show performances bring together the leaders alongside special SF Bay Area guests Howard Wiley (tenor saxophone), Joel Behrman (trumpet), Ryan Pate (guitar), and Adam Carlson (from Portland, OR) (drums) -marking a powerful new chapter in the ensemble’s evolving artistic vision.
