Midweek swing night with rotating live bands, swing dance classes, and cocktails in a classic North Beach setting, Cat’s Corner welcomes Nick Rossi’s Swing Six on Wednesday, April 22 from 9:00–11:30pm.
Led by guitarist Nick Rossi, the Swing Six specializes in polished small-band swing with deep rhythmic lift, elegant phrasing, and a clear affection for the classic jazz language of the 1930s and ’40s. A favorite with dancers for its relaxed drive and beautifully shaped pulse, the band pairs Rossi’s impeccable rhythm guitar with a standout frontline featuring Kamrin Ortiz on tenor sax and clarinet and Clint Baker on trumpet, backed by Kevin Gerzevitz on piano, Mikiya Matsuda on bass, and Smith Dobson on drums. The result is warm, finely textured swing music with plenty of style, momentum, and vintage charm.
