Marissa McClain Quartet

Described as having a “warm and rich voice, with a giant sense of swing”, Marissa McLain is an emerging jazz vocalist in the San Francisco scene. Her approach to The Great American Songbook is deeply unique, encompassing any emotion and range that the very nature of jazz commands. Her interpretations all come from a place of endless curiosity and respect for the tradition. Since relocating to San Francisco last November, she has become a fixture in the city’s numerous jam sessions and participated in a Women In Jazz program led by Dee Spencer at SF State. Influenced by greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Nancy Wilson and contemporary legends like Cecile McLorin Salvant and Lucy Yeghiazaryan, she is excited to share her voice and to continue to build community in the Bay Area.
