While Club Moderne centers on the art of the pre-war cocktail, the Blue Room is a dedicated performance salon, with glossy blue walls, shimmering disco-ball light, and a cozy stage that brings guests face-to-face with some of the city’s finest jazz and cabaret artists.
The “Stookey’s duo” — founders Tim Stookey, Leslie Cole, and Aaron Cole — treat the space as a love letter to a particular era of San Francisco glamour. Interior details are meticulous, from porthole door windows and white-jacketed bartenders to vintage glassware sourced from local auctions. By expanding into the Blue Room, they’ve revived the spirit of the mid-century supper club (minus the dinner), offering a polished but welcoming refuge for those who prefer their martinis served with a side of live syncopation.

True to its roots, the bar program is a deep dive into cocktail history, with drinks organized by their year of origin from roughly 1900 through 1990. Classicists and cocktail nerds alike will find plenty to explore, from impeccably prepared pre-Prohibition standards to mid-century favorites. House signatures include the 100 Reasons Rye (Rye, Punt e Mes, Cointreau, Orange Bitters) and Penicillin(Scotch, Ginger Infused Honey, Fresh Lemon), both as photogenic as they are period-correct.
