A Singer’s Open Mic Cabaret at Stookey’s Blue Room!

$20Bring your jazz and musical theatre charts (up to three different songs, clear, readable and IN YOUR KEY) or your full piano scores. Each singer will get a 5 minute turn at the mic to introduce a song, tell a short story and perform. Everyone in the queue will sing once, then we will cycle through again for a second round.
About your hosts:
As a vocal artist and cabaret performer, Ms. Shannon Wolfe delights in the art of singing and storytelling using the Great American Songbook as her muse. She is the creator of numerous cabaret shows including Femme Fatale: A Film Noir Cabaret; Kurt Weill + Songs from the Weimar Cabaret, Sinatra and Shore: A Centennial Tribute; You’d Be Surprised a Tribute to Irving Berlin; and Lonely Girl: the Songs of Julie London, showcased at both Stookey’s Blue Room and Society Cabaret in downtown San Francisco. She is also one half of the comedic jazz cabaret duo, Sophisticated Ladies, whose harmonically rich shows: Take the J Train and Shiny Stockings delight audiences with songs from the Art Deco era and the tunes of Tin Pan Alley. Shannon holds a Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
John Wilson is pianist at the San Francisco Symphony, Principal Keyboard of Marin Symphony, San Diego Symphony, and Oakland Symphony, and has performed as Guest Principal Keyboard of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.John recently released his second album on Avie Records, “Rachmaninoff • Gershwin: Transcriptions by Earl Wild,” a follow-up to his first award-winning album, “Upon Further Reflection”, which featured the premiere of MTT’s three-movement suite for piano. No stranger to the stars, he has accompanied Jennifer Hudson, Bernadette Peters, Audra McDonald and most recently Cynthia Erivo in concert at the SF Symphony.
